REVIEW: Rhythm Is Gonna Get You, LEAF Studio, Lighthouse, Poole. 12th July 2024

Updated: Jul 14

I went to go see Leaf Studio's production of 'Rhythm Is Gonna Get You', and it was a magical performance that was full of all sorts of talent and abilities.

'Rhythm Is Gonna Get You', was full of incredible dance routines which were expertly choreographed by the skilful dance teachers at LEAF Studio. These dances were performed full to the brim with energy and technique, showcasing the very high abilities of the pupils.

Along with the dancing there was a wowing amount of brilliant singers and actors that played their characters to a very high standard. Each of the pupils are so talented and could definitely pursue a career in the West End as they're all so good at what they do.

The costumes, set, lighting and sound were also amazing and it just made the show so fun and enjoyable. I loved all of the fun songs in the show and everyone in the audience was having a blast.

Act I was opened with a magnificent Disney section including Aladdin and Dick Van Dyke. Then it shifted to the classic musical 'My Fair Lady', with iconic numbers such as, 'Wouldn't It Be Lovely', and 'Get Me to the Church'. Finally, Act I closed with an awesome section filled with songs by famous pop icons such as: Michael Jackson, Bob Fosse, Whitney Houston, Beyonce and Elvis Presley.

In Act II there were sections from hit musicals such as 'Beetlejuice' and 'Kinky Boots', both of which were very entertaining. It was a great way to close the show and i thoroughly enjoyed it.

This show wouldn't have been as fantastic as it was if it wasn't for the hard work and dedication of the pupils and staff at LEAF Studio. They have all worked so hard towards this production and it was a huge success.

Congratulations to LEAF Studio for delivering a phenomenal show that will be remembered for years to come. The bar has been set high, and we eagerly await their next production.

One more show left. Go team Riggy!
